Undhiyu

The winter Gujarati dish which comes from the south Gujrat. the dish that almost every Gujarati has on the day of Makara Sankranti. this dish is a mix of vegetables, bananas, dry fruits and not to forget the fresh garlic chives and coriander with loads of masalas.. does that waters your mouth already… the list of vegetables that are used can make you more hungry; the surti papdi, deep fried muthiya, deep fried sweet potatoes, the potatoes, stuffed aubergines. this is one of my favorite dishes, I would cut some extra potatoes and deep fry some extra muthiyas to munch on them while I prepare the whole dish. The proper way to have them is to make chaas, and puri. but i had undhiyu with phulkas and homemade marinated green chillies in mustard seeds
